TOMMY TRUONG
When I was 13, I basically majored in DRAWING & CRAFTING.
I spent many hours designing an epic fantasy board game called“THUẬT CHIẾN CẤP”. It got so popular that neighborhood kids turned my house into a mini gaming convention. The kids actually paid money to upgrade their characters and weapons. It’s basically a pay-to-win gaming style. I didn’t realize I was already an entrepreneur, making money at just 13.
Neighbourhood kids came my house everyday often skipping meals and causing their parents looking for them.
My sister eventually had to kick everyone out. She complained to her parents,(of course we have the same parents) and by the time I reached grade 12, they ended up burning most of my board games…
I’m a highly credentialed Vietnamese language coach, travel consultant, and artist who makes learning unforgettable.
I hold a degree in TEACHING AND TRANSLATION from HUFLIT university in Saigon, Vietnam, and completed a TOURISM AND ECO-ADVENTURE course in Canada. In 2021, I was proud to be named a Tourism Ambassador and featured in Travel Courier magazine. https://travelcourier.ca/tam-linh-truong
I continue to TEACHING VIETNAMESE (SOUTHERN DIALECT), now I'm a full-time teacher/artist/content creator. (guess I can't escape from this flair eh?)
As a teen, I ran a mini creative business, designing and selling board game characters and upgrades, secretly borrowing my sister’s scissors (sorry, sis!).
By 17, school took priority, and many creations were lost but the spark never left me.
Now, I channel that same creativity into playful tools and digital games that make learning Vietnamese fun and meaningful. Language isn’t just memorization it’s connection, culture, and becoming smarter.
During the pandemic, I launched STICKER TEACHER ON YOUTUBE, sharing tips, stories, and strategies that prove learning a new language is simple when the method is fun, intentional, and full of repetition.ONE I want to restore the authenticity and standard of Southern Vietnamese.
TWO Launch Vietnamese language schools in Vietnam, Canada and the US.
THREE Apparently, become popular.
